2 hours, No Baby!!!

Kyra slept fpr 6 hours straight last night!!! Hooray!!!! Well, Kyra stayed with Aunt Amy and Tristan while I took Denali to the vet today. She did ok but wouldn't take the bottle. She loves watching Tris. :) They must have done a great job of wearing her out because took a great nap afterwards!!!

Bullseye Baby!!

Not much going on today. Just hung out and worked on stuff around home while dad worked. We wore our sweats all day (Kyra's are cuter than mine.) In the back of the one picture you can see Phil's dartboard which Kyra LOVES to look at. :) Bull's-Eye!!

Stubborn Babe!!!

Kyra's Auntie Amy did 3 month portraits for her today. (Kyra's Aunt Amy & Uncle John are the owners/operators of Full of Grace Photography here in the Portland area and they're GREAT!! Check out their site at fullofgracephotography.com or their blog in my sidebar.) Kyra was NOT feeling cooperative, but Amy still got a bunch of ADORABLE shots. :) Kyra spent most of the shoot being a little fussy or being determined that she was going to suck on her hand, Chicken Bob, her dress and anything else we tried to fill her hands with to keep them out of her mouth!

Game Day! :)

Well Kyra went directly to the nursery this morning instead of trying service first and it was much more pleasant for all involved!! Then, after service, we had to rush right over to the softball game as it was the early game today! Dad and his team played GREAT and Kyra didn't do to bad as a spectator either. There was very little fussing, just a bit when she got hungry and then when there was too much sun in her face. (She still won't wear her sunglasses, they seem to big for her face right now so maybe they're uncomfortable. Her big sunhat helps a lot though! I was so careful to make sure that her skin was covered up or shaded from the sun (no sunblock until 6 months) and I made sure Phil put on his sunblock but apparently I didn't wear my sunhat for as much of the time as I thought I did because my nose was pink afterwards! Then, after we got home, I found a Jumperoo for a good price on Craigslist so we had to go over and get that. :) Now she's got a Jumperoo AND an Exersaucer (and for less than what either one would have cost new) but they're both still just a little big for her. She likes them already anyway though! Just can't be in them for TOO long without getting uncomfortable.

What a Beautiful Day!!!

It was SOOO nice out today!! We didn't manage to get to the dog park sadly and Phil was just too worn out from work to go afterwards, but we did go out to Grandma & Grandpa B.'s this evening. Grandma B. had a bunch of adorable clothes for Kyra and a yummy dinner for us too. :) Kyra is still being a putz about letting Great Grandma Pat hold her (she doesn't like to have to lay back at all) but she likes her when someone else is holding her so they can visit. :)

Hey Little Girl

Well, today Phil worked and then he had softball practice this evening so it was pretty much just us girls hanging out. :) We did get a hold of a WONDERFUL lady who is going to try to make us some extra Chicken Bob's!!! (just in case ours wears out or gets lost since we have trouble getting to sleep well at night without it.) I'll add a picture here of the finished product. :) Since we didn't have anywhere to be today, we tried leaving little Kyra's hair uncombed again to see how those little girl curls are coming along and it turned into a sort of Elvis inspired do. *lol* I guess we'll keep combing it for the time being... :)

NOTE: This is the original. I'll put up a picture of the copies as soon as I have it. :)

'Tis better to have lovies and lose them than never to have lovies at all.

Well this morning Kyra and I ran errands. We had to go to the bank and over to the other side of East Portland to get the exersaucer I found her on Craigslist. (I love Craigslist! $15 for an exersaucer in good condition, how awesome is that!?!?) Then we went to Wal-Mart to visit with Dad on "Take Your Kid to Work Day." (Kyra wasn't quite old enough to actually stay with him at work all day.) Too bad her "Wal-Mart uniform" doesn't fit anymore!!! Then Kyra (finally) laid down for a nap. She'd been refusing to stay asleep when I'd put her down anywhere, but finally I laid her down on the blanket Phil uses a lot on our bed while I was doing some other stuff and she dozed off there. Maybe because it smells like Dad. :) She tried out the new exersaucer tonight and likes it!!

We spent a good share of the afternoon online looking for possible replacement/alternative lovies to Chicken Bob as he's already starting to look a little worse for wear. We'll post updates about how the search is going. If YOU ever need to find/replace a lost or worn lovie, or just are looking for an "old friend", here are some GREAT places to look: Plush Memories Lost Toy Search Service and Susan's Sew-Nique.

Just Call Me "Shades"

Kyra got weighed and measured at her appointment this morning and she's now 23 7/8 inches long and 12 lbs, 1 oz!!! She's between the 50th and 75th percentiles on length, right about at the 50th for weight and between the 25th and the 50th for her length/weight ratio. She's growing like a weed!! (Although, all her pants and diapers covers in the 3-6 month size are still too big at the waist!)
She got her new "Baby Banz" shades and sunhat in the mail today and had to try her hat on. She actually didn't seem to mind it at all! :) She and dad spent some time playing with her gym before bed too. She's getting really good at manipulating the toys and her dad too! ;)

There was a little girl....

There was a little girl who had a little curl...

right in the middle of her forehead.

And when she was good she was very, very good.

And when she was bad, she was horrid!

(Ok.. so I cheated... the "bad" picture was a before and the "good" was an after, but isn't her hair getting curly!?!? This was right after her shower this evening. :) )

Shopping!

Not much exciting today. :) Did some shopping. We got some new fold up chairs for softball and Kyra got a new swimsuit for this summer and a possible Easter dress for next year on clearance (both purple!!!!)

Called On Account of.... Snow?

Ok, so it was more like sleet... and then rain... and then lightning, but yes, Dad's first softball game of the year was called halfway through due to bad weather! His team had a great part of a game though!!! Before that we had church (Kyra spent the second half of the service in the nursery after she got fussy) and bible study at Russ and Myrna's. We also celebrated her big three month mark today even though it was actually yesterday because Mama got the date's mixed up. :) Denali thought he should be able to get in on the celebration by having some cake, but he had to just watch instead.

Cute Baby. :)

Well, not much going on today. Mama made a pot roast, Dad worked and Kyra was her own sweet, cute self. :)

COOOOOLD PRACTICE!!

This evening was the first softball practice of the season and it was COLD and WINDY!!! Kyra didn't mind since she snuggled up nice and in her carrier with her jacket on under my sweatshirt and a blanket. The players didn't mind TOO much as they were all moving around a whole lot. I sure minded though!! It was really breezy and my fingers, toes and nose were just about frozen!! I'm glad it was sort of a short practice due to the still somewhat short days. I think Kyra and I will be just going to the games until it warms up some!

After we got home, she played with Denali Cat. :)

Mama's Night Out!!

Kyra and Dad stayed home alone this evening for just over two hours!!! There was some screaming for a little while towards the end, but no major issues. I got to go to the library and grocery shopping all alone! (I was home for a couple minutes in between though, as I locked my keys in the car in the Wal-Mart parking lot and had to walk home and get another set... OOPS!!!) All in all though, it went pretty well. Then when I got home, she was a GOOD girl and took a whole bottle with very little fussing about it. (Albeit, it was NOT previously frozen milk which she seems to have an issue with.)

Purple Pants!!

Nothing too exciting going on today. Kyra wore her cute BRIGHT purple cords and her orange stretchy onesie for the first time today. Also, her cute Addidas tennies from Uncle Chris as she's officially outgrown the little Nikes. There was a softball meeting at church for Dad's team this evening and we tagged along. She hung out in the carrier and rode (comfortably I'd assume since she napped) with both legs out of the carrier for the first time instead of tucked up froggie style.

Mooo!

No, this post is NOT about my post-baby diet.. Kyra wore her cow sweatsuit for the first time today, and I'm glad I grabbed it to put on her since it's probably going to be the only time she wears the little pants since, even though it's a 3-6 month, the little "hoof" feet fit her just exactly right now!! She was such a good girl today, she took a LONG nap this morning and a shorter nap this afternoon. She's getting to be so much more alert between naps and she's also decided that we're going to get up when Dad leaves at 7:30a.m. instead of 8:00 or 8:30 now so I think we're going to have to start scheduling things better!!!

Rainy Monday

Well, our BEAUTIFUL sunny weather is gone and we're back to beautiful rainy weather for Monday. Today we puppy sat for cute Hazel for a couple hours and went to Coscto for doggie food. That was the exciting part of the day. :) Kyra did MOSTLY behave herself for Dad so I could get dinner without too much interruption and she was sleepy for most of the evening so apparently puppy sitting wore her out.

Sunshine Day!!

It was BEAUTIFUL out today!!! The sun was out and it was NICE so Kyra and I wore our warm weather clothes. (I WISH I'd gotten a picture of her in her little ruffly white capris and hat, but they didn't last until we got home (had to change all her clothes at church) so we don't have any. Next time I'll get them before we leave! After church, we went out to Grandma & Grandpa B.'s for a visit and then to dinner (Mexican, YUM!). We also figured out today that Kyra likes looking at pictures now and Dad caught her on video talking to her butterflies. :)

Naptime!!

Phil worked an early shift at 6:00a.m. today, so he got home from work early too. It was such a nice day out today!! maybe that's why Kyra didn't want to settle down for her morning nap until this afternoon, she just didn't want to miss it. :) When Phil got home, he was pretty worn out, so we didn't really do anything to take advantage of the good weather other than open ALL the windows when Dad overcooked his popcorn. ;) Phil, Kyra and Funny Bunny took a nap on the bed together so Mama got some "me time".

Jungle Gym!

I just can't believe how fast she changes!! She was playing under the new gym we got her yesterday, and she's already figured out how to bat at the stuff and has even gotten the tiger toy to play music once. (You have to roll a little ball.) She was VERY good today but had a rough night last night going to sleep as her fishies died (the aquarium toy on her bassinet, not actual fishies) and we were short one D battery. Now we know to always have extra on hand!!! She helped me go through some of her bigger size clothes today to see what she's got and what she still needs. It's supposed to be nice all weekend so hopefully we can get out and play!!!

Puppy-sitting!!!

We got to babysit Hazel this morning!!! :D It was fun!! She was very good and the dogs played all morning even though it was rainy (in and out and in and out and in and out). She stayed in Denali Cat's crate while we showered because she's still tiny and fits in it. The only moment of trouble was when Kyra threw Chicken Bob out of her swing and Hazel, not knowing it wasn't a puppy toy, RAN over and picked it up. The poor thing, I was just going to take it away and put it in the bedroom but Echo beat me to her and knocked the poor little puppy over with his nose and held her there until she let go of the chick! I think he was afraid I was going to yell at her. Then, after Auntie Amy came to pick up Hazel, we all went grocery shopping together. (Well Amy, Kyra and I did as they don't let doggies in Wal-Mart.) Kyra thought that was LOTS of fun because Amy held her and I followed them so she could be snuggling with her Auntie and still see Mama really well. Then she got to see Phil on his break (although she slept through it) and that was pretty great too. We went to the bookstore and Hollywood video shopping after Phil got home and we picked out a Bible to have imprinted with her name to give her for her dedication gift from us, even though it will be quite a while before she's ready to read it. (It is TNIV though, so it shouldn't be TOO long.)
